REFUND, RETURN & CANCELLATION POLICY

Urban Recliner

1. INTRODUCTION

This Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) governs all purchases made from Urban Recliner through www.urbanrecliner.com or any authorized sales channel.

By placing an order, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by the terms mentioned herein.

Urban Recliner reserves the absolute right to modify, update, or amend this Policy at any time without prior notice.


2. 30-DAY RETURN WINDOW

Customers may initiate a return request within 30 (Thirty) calendar days from the date of delivery.

Any return request submitted after 30 days shall be automatically rejected without exception.

Urban Recliner provides free return pickup within the 30-day return window, subject to eligibility conditions mentioned below.


3. RETURN ELIGIBILITY CATEGORIES

Urban Recliner accepts returns under the following categories:


3.1 DEFECTIVE / DAMAGED PRODUCTS

Return may be approved only in case of:

  • Verified manufacturing defect

  • Functional failure under normal household use

  • Severe transit damage (must be reported within 48 hours of delivery)

Mandatory unboxing video evidence may be required for transit damage claims.
Failure to provide sufficient proof may result in rejection.


3.2 NON-DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS (STRICT & DISCRETIONARY APPROVAL)

Urban Recliner may allow return of non-defective products at its sole discretion.

The following reasons DO NOT automatically qualify for return:

  • Change of mind

  • Personal comfort expectations

  • Aesthetic dissatisfaction

  • Minor color variation due to screen display

  • Interior mismatch or space constraints

Approval of non-defective returns is:

  • Not a guaranteed right

  • Subject to management discretion

  • Evaluated on a case-by-case basis

Urban Recliner reserves full authority to approve or reject such requests.


4. MANDATORY CONDITIONS FOR ALL RETURNS

To qualify for return approval, ALL of the following must be satisfied:

  • Product must be completely unused

  • No signs of sitting usage or fabric compression

  • No dents, scratches, stains, odors, or damage

  • All original packaging including box, thermocol, tags, manuals & accessories must be intact

  • Original invoice must be provided

  • Product must be safely repacked

If original packaging is unavailable, the customer must arrange equivalent protective packaging at their own cost.

Any sign of usage beyond inspection may lead to rejection.

The decision of the Urban Recliner inspection team shall be final and legally binding.


5. FREE RETURN & RESTOCKING FEE

Urban Recliner offers FREE RETURN PICKUP across India within the 30-day return window.

Customers are not required to pay any return shipping charges.

Urban Recliner will arrange reverse pickup at no additional courier cost to the customer.

However,

All approved returns (defective or non-defective) are subject to:

₹1500 Fixed Restocking & Handling Fee

This ₹1500 amount will be deducted from the refundable amount and covers:

  • Product inspection and quality check

  • Reverse logistics processing

  • Handling and repackaging expenses

No separate return shipping fee will be charged.

If a return is rejected after inspection due to usage, damage, or policy violation, the customer must bear re-shipping charges to receive the product back.


6. INSPECTION & FINAL AUTHORITY

All returned products undergo mandatory quality inspection.

Urban Recliner reserves the right to:

  • Reject return if product condition differs from claim

  • Apply depreciation deduction if minor usage is detected

  • Deny refund if product is found used or damaged

If return is rejected after inspection, the customer must bear re-shipping charges to receive the product back.

Urban Recliner’s decision shall be final and non-negotiable.


7. REFUND PROCESS

Upon successful inspection approval:

  • Refund will be processed within 7 business days

  • Refund will be credited to the original mode of payment

  • COD refunds will be processed via bank transfer only

Deductions may include:

  • ₹1500 return charge

  • Payment gateway charges (if applicable)

  • Damage recovery cost (if applicable)

Refund confirmation will be communicated via email or SMS.


8. CANCELLATION POLICY

8.1 Cancellation Before Dispatch

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of placement.

Refund will be issued after deduction of applicable payment gateway charges.


8.2 Cancellation After Dispatch (Before Delivery)

Cancellation after dispatch shall be treated as a return request.

  • ₹1500 logistics charge shall apply

  • Additional courier charges (if any) may be deducted


8.3 Cancellation After Delivery

Cancellation is not permitted after successful delivery.

Only return policy provisions shall apply.


9. NON-RETURNABLE SITUATIONS

Returns shall NOT be accepted in the following cases:

  • Product used beyond inspection

  • Product assembled and used for regular sitting

  • Damage due to improper handling

  • Damage caused by pets, liquids, fire, or sharp objects

  • Missing packaging or accessories

  • Custom-made or special-order recliners

  • Bulk or commercial orders


10. FRAUD & POLICY MISUSE PROTECTION

Urban Recliner reserves the right to:

  • Reject repeated or suspicious return requests

  • Permanently block customers suspected of abuse

  • Initiate legal action in case of fraudulent claims

  • Share data with payment gateway fraud monitoring systems

Submitting false damage claims or returning used products may result in permanent blacklisting.


11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Urban Recliner’s maximum liability shall not exceed the invoice value of the purchased product.

Urban Recliner shall not be responsible for:

  • Indirect or consequential damages

  • Loss of business or profit

  • Emotional dissatisfaction

  • Minor color variation due to digital screen differences


12. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

This Policy shall be governed in accordance with the laws of India.

All disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Gurgaon, Haryana.
